International Departments in Primary Schools cater for the age group of 4 to 11/12 years of age.

The curriculum framework meets the Dutch educational legislation. However, due to their specific character, the
International departments have permission from the Dutch Minister of Education to depart from this legislation on several points, mainly concerning the qualifications of teachers and the curriculum.

In general the curricula of the twelve Primary International Schools are based on the British Curriculum for Primary Schools, and/on or the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) or the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP)
